2024Year
88Pages

This guidance provides key considerations to support implementation and scale up of self-care interventions in countries, at the national or subnational level. It looks at the implementation of self-care interventions in relation to the six WHO health systems building blocks, i.e., information, health workforce, service delivery, leadership and governance, medical products and technologies, and health financing. In addition, it covers implementation research, monitoring and evaluation of key outcomes.

The aim of this tool is to enable countries to implement evidence-based self-care interventions in a systematic way. Implementation of these interventions improve and strengthen the efficiency and responsiveness of national health systems and provide people with more choices, options and equitable access to quality health care.
